NORTEXCEL2020 Study visit to Styria

A study visit to Styria region in Austria (where Joannuem Research has headquarters) was organized under the NORTEXCEL2020 initiative, between 30th of November to 2nd of December of 2015. This visit intended to mobilize and involve selected representatives of the Norte region with relevant organizations representing the quadruple-helix in Styria, which goal was to to exchange experiences and best practices in the implementation of the new centre of excellence.

During this visit it was possible to understand in more detail the modus operandi of the Johanneum Research institutes with a comprehensive visit to their installations and demonstration of relevant work performed in their institutes. Also, the group was able to meet with relevant stakeholders from areas related to the NORTEXCEL2020 centre and understand which type of work is done in the region. In particular, it included a visit to the eHealth institute in the University of Applied Sciences of Graz, to the Science Park for start-up incubation, as well as to the Human.Technology Styria Cluster and the Payer Medical GmbH, a company with expertise in manufacturing innovative medical devices.
